Donations

The Ashaway Free Library is a non-municipal library that receives some funds from the town of Hopkinton and the State of Rhode Island. However, a major portion of essential funding comes from contributions from individuals, memorial donations, community businesses and philanthropic foundation grants. Please help fund the Library today.

Donations of Time, Goods and Services

Donations of frequently used consumables such as reams of copy paper, toilet tissue, and liquid hand soap are always welcome.

Volunteers are an important part of the AFL family. Volunteers assist with technology tutoring, book shelving, sorting donated books, and providing event support. The AFL Board of Trustees works hard to ensure that the Library’s facilities and resources support the Library’s mission and now and into the future. Please talk with the Library Director about joining the Board or donating your time and talents in other ways.

Donations of time and services from local builders and craftspeople have been greatly appreciated over the years.

Library Gifts to Honor Someone Special

When you make a gift in someone’s honor, the honoree will receive notice from the Library as you instruct. This is an innovative way to honor a favorite teacher, friend, or relative; to remember Mothers Day and Fathers Day and other special occasions. Memorial Funds and Bequests

Members of our community often remember a loved one with a gift in their name. Examples of memorial donations are the purchase of a book with a memorial book plate, funds to enhance part of the Library’s collection or programming, funds to purchase a bench for the property or other interior or exterior Library improvements.
